The second volume of farington's diary will be welcomed by all those who read with interest and amusement anecdote and gossip about great people in the past. Farington himself, in a note referring to the diary (printed in the first volume), is very modest with regard to his record, which lie says was written for his amusement and much, he describes, as being.
